This time, I updated my CV with even more thought. I even added my personality type — Protagonist (ENFJ) — a reflection of what I’d learned at ParentPay: that DevOps leadership isn’t only about technical expertise, it’s about people, culture, and empathy.
I sent my CV to the recruiter, and he submitted my application. Now, all I could do was wait.

Rejection is often just fate’s way of clearing the path
Rejection has a way of testing you. It stings in the moment, but it also forces you to look inward and decide what you’re really made of. Losing out on the internal role had been disappointing, but it didn’t break me — it sharpened me. And when this new opportunity appeared, I realised rejection wasn’t the end of the story; sometimes it’s just the redirection you need.
