Tech-007: Coming Home and Rebuilding My Life

This is the heart of my journey so far, my Redemption Arc. Taking everything from the darkness I was once in and turning it into hope, family, resilience, and rebirth

When I finally hit rock bottom, I knew there was only one place left to go: home. With nothing but a single bin liner full of clothes, I turned up at my mum’s door and begged for forgiveness.

My mum answered the door and was instantly hit with shock and sadness; she barely recognised me... I was skin and bones and the shell of a human I once was.

She broke down in tears but then let me in...

She took me in, fed me up and put me back on the road to repair, I came clean and honest with her about everything that happened in my dark period, and this made our bond stronger than ever before

I vowed to never lie to her again

Over the course of the next few months, we rebuilt together, she bought me a car, nice little Peugeot 206, British racing green with a roof rack 😂

After a few months repairing and reflecting, it was time for me to get back into work!

I started applying for jobs, attended multiple interviews I got accepted for a role at an automotive dealer management software house in Sheffield

This role was the catalyst of my career, reborn and with fire in my shoes I was ready to hit this role full throttle

Some gratitude

I'm forever grateful to my mother, my family and true friends for supporting me in the start of my journey to rebuild... while others abandoned me these people stuck by me and this will stay with me forever

Reflection

For the first time in years, I felt like myself again. Only this time, I wasn’t just tinkering or drifting — I had purpose, I had drive

And I wasn’t going to waste another chance...
