Tech-001: My First Build

Ever since I was little, I’ve been technically minded — always tinkering, building, and imagining new ideas. While most kids were out playing football, I was taking apart electronics to see how they worked. At 9 years old, I built my first PC from scratch, and that single moment of curiosity set me on a path I’m still on today.

I didn’t really know what I was doing. I had no manuals, no YouTube tutorials, just instinct and trial-and-error. I remember holding the CPU in my tiny hands like it was a piece of alien technology, terrified of bending the pins. I remember the static shock paranoia after someone warned me I could “fry the whole thing” just by touching it.

Hours passed. Screws went missing in the carpet. I plugged and unplugged the same ribbon cables five times before realising I had them the wrong way round. At one point I nearly convinced myself I’d built an expensive paperweight.

And then… the moment. I pressed the power button. The fans whirred, the hard drive clicked, and suddenly the screen lit up. A basic BIOS screen — nothing fancy — but to me it was magic. I built this. With my own hands. At nine years old.

That feeling — watching something come alive that you created — is addictive. I didn’t know it then, but that moment would define my life. It wasn’t just a PC powering on. It was the start of my obsession with technology, problem-solving, and building things that work.

This blog is my way of sharing the wins, mistakes, and lessons learned — from turning around businesses to building apps from scratch. If you’ve ever felt like tinkering could take you somewhere, this is for you.
